Urs is an international expert with vast experience in consultancy, academic lecturing, and research in Destination Management & Sustainable Development. Urs is currently Professor & Head of Tourism at Institute of Tourism, Lucerne University of applied Sciences & Arts. He has a degree in Business Administration and works in the travel industry since 1990. He comes with extensive work experience in the Swiss private sector including being the CEO of Destination Management Organization of Lenzerheide, Switzerland. He is a GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) licensed trainer and Destination Assessor. International experience from activities and Projects in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Japan, Thailand.

In Albania Urs has contributed with expertise through the RisiAlbania project in the period 2021-2022. He is supporting with training of trainers in GSTC sustainable tourism standards and certifications, and the regional partnerships initiatives in Albania (Visit Gjirokastra, Visit Saranda) to further improve their core services for the members and increase sustainability.
